District Elections
The City of Huntington Park, like hundreds of cities and school districts across the state, is making a change in how voters elect its City Council. Beginning in 2026, voters will vote for one City Council Member who lives in their district. This will replace the current system of at-large citywide elections in which voters have the ability to vote for all City Council Members.
One of our primary goals when drawing City Council districts is to draw lines that respect neighborhoods, history, and geographical elements. So we want to know: What do you consider the boundaries of your neighborhood?
How to participate?
Share your specific thoughts, draw a map, or attend the upcoming workshop to get involved!
- Submit written testimony about your community, the process, or a specific map to sinfanzon@hpca.gov.
- Go to Schedule to see the calendar of public meetings at which you can speak about the process or a specific map.
- Go to Draft maps to view the draft maps or the Interactive Review Map.
- Go to Draw a Map for information on drawing and submitting maps.
At the hearings and workshop, we want you to:
- Share your story
- Define your neighborhood or community of interest
- Explain why districting is relevant to your community
- Get the tools you need to draw a map of one district or of all districts
- Share your opinions of the draft maps
- Talk to your neighbors and local organizations
Elecciones por Distrito
La ciudad de Huntington Park, como cientos de ciudades y distritos escolares en todo el estado, está cambiando la forma en que los votantes eligen a su Concejo Municipal. A partir de 2026, los votantes votarán por un concejal que resida en su distrito. Esto reemplazará el sistema actual de elecciones municipales a nivel general, en el que los votantes pueden votar por todos los miembros del Concejo Municipal.

¿Cómo participar?
¡Comparte tus pensamientos concretos, dibuja un mapa o asiste al taller que se avecina para participar!
- Presenta testimonios escritos sobre tu comunidad, el proceso o un mapa específico y mándalo a sinfanzon@hpca.gov.
- Ve a Cronograma para ver el calendario de reuniones públicas en las que puedes hablar sobre el proceso o sobre un mapa específico.
- Ve a Mapas preliminares para ver los mapas preliminares o el Mapa de Revisión Interactivo.
- Visita Dibuja un mapa para obtener información sobre cómo dibujar y enviar mapas.
En las audiencias y el taller, queremos que:
- Compartas tu historia
- Definas tu vecindario o comunidad de interés
- Explica por qué la distribución de distritos es relevante para tu comunidad
- Consigue las herramientas que necesitas para dibujar un mapa de un distrito o de todos los distritos
- Comparte tus opiniones sobre los mapas preliminares
- Habla con tus vecinos y organizaciones locales
