On March 16 the Huntington Park City Council officially adopted a resolution reciting the facts of the general election held on March 3. Newly elected Councilmembers Graciela Ortiz, Jhonny I. Pineda, and Marilyn Sanabria were sworn into office with an overflow crowd in attendance within city hall council chambers. The newly-elected Council appointed Karina Macias as Mayor and Graciela Ortiz as Vice Mayor.
The City Council also acknowledged the service of outgoing Councilmembers Mario Gomez, Ofelia Hernandez and Mayor Rosa Perez.
“The community has spoken and now it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work,” said Interim City Manager John A. Ornelas. “We appreciate our residents and citizens participation in this important democratic process,” he added.
