Cable Broadcast:
Regular City Council meetings are taped and broadcast throughout the week on Charter Communications (Local Access Channel 3) you can watch the most recent City Council Meeting daily at 10:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Meeting Times:
The regular meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
Meetings Open to the Public:
All City Council meetings are open to the public with the exception of closed session subjects (when legal and personnel matters are discussed). Any member of the public may address the City Council on matters within the City Council’s jurisdiction during the public appearance segment of the agenda. Pursuant to Ordinance 544-NS each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes and shall first secure the recognition of the presiding officer.
Pursuant to provisions of the Brown Act, no action may be taken on a matter unless it is listed on the agenda, or unless certain emergency or special circumstances exist. The City Council may direct staff to investigate and/or schedule matters for consideration at a future City Council meeting.
Members of the public must silence all cellular telephones and other electronic equipment upon entering the City Council Chambers. Order and decorum shall be preserved at all City Council meetings.
Submitting Items for Council Meetings:
If you would like to place an item on the City Council agenda, a written request must be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk. The request should include your name, address telephone number, the group you represent, if any, and a statement of the purpose for the request and any pertinent background information. Your item will be referred to the City Manager prior to placement on an agenda. Once your item is placed on the agenda, you will be notified, usually within two weeks.
